Anton van Leeuwenhoek had a great contribution in the history of earliest simple microscope. It did help greatly in the fields of medicine, in the study of microbiology and on other living things. The discovery of simple microscope was one of the most important details in the science history. Anton van Leeuwenhoek, the father of microbiology started out in discovering microscopic lens, microscopic bacteria, protozoa, nematodes and so forth. Through his discoveries, other scientists agreed and use his discovery of simple microscope. Leeuwenhoek had developed techniques for making good quality ground lenses for simple microscopes. He was a Dutch cloth merchant who first used simple microscope to examine the minute details of living things. His skills at grinding lenses made it superior to many of the compound microscopes used previously although his microscope was very simple.

His simple microscopes were considered superior during his time. He was the first scientist who discovered the protozoa in water and was able to study of structured tissue and identified minute blood capillaries that helps in the anatomy of circulation. Simple microscope of Leeuwenhoek consisted simply of a metal end plate serving as body, the screw for adjusting the height of the object being examined, a skewer to impale the object and rotate it, and the lens itself which was spherical simple microscope of Logan. James Logan in October of 1871 followed to discover and presented a simple wooden monocular microscope. This simple monocular microscope has a circular base with a turned pillar that supports the eye piece, stage and the sub stage mirror. The demand for microscopes for scientific use grew rapidly until the 19th century where vast improvements in microscopes design and function. Doctors and scientists are among the people who gained benefits with their kind of works.
